First Impressions - Avon Nailwear Pro+ Enamel and Shop Hop

I put my name down for a Shop Hop on BlogLoveTherapy this week which required us to buy a product/s and write a post about it. I have recently purchased quite a few of Avon's brand spankers new Nailwear Pro+ nail enamels so I thought I would do a first impressions post of what I think of their application. They are supposed to be a gel-like formula that lasts longer than the average nail polish, and I can't wait to find out if that's the case! Being an Avon rep doesn't help my cosmetics compulsion and I cannot help myself with their products, and because they are soo cheap I always think 'what have I got to lose?' :) Here's a few of them I used for a pastel and metallic manicure:

Colours from left to right: Sea Breeze, Lemon Sugar, Starry Night, Vintage Blue and Pastel Pink
(Actually I cheated I already owned Vintage Blue and I love it already, but it fit in so well for how I wanted to paint my nails)

How gorgeous are these colours?! I love pastels in spring/summer and Starry Night is a stunning metallic shimmery silver, I am in love. I couldn't wait to wear each one so I thought I would wear them all at the same time, impatient, me!

Excuse my shaky application, I've a bit too much caffeine today :S

My trusty Leighton Denny One For All used as a basecoat and top coat

I put Starry Night in there to punch up the pastels and make it a bit more interesting, I know I'm gushing but Starry night is such a beautiful colour, and a dream to apply too. I always find that shimmers are always easier to apply and this one is no exception. I also find these pastels easy to apply, and it only took two coats to acheive an opaque finish. I love all of these colours and I am really happy with them all post-application. As for the long-wearing chip resistant finish I will have to see how they last on me, (a clumsy person who seems determined to knock my nails on everything) I will review them soon when I have put them through their paces. First impressions? Love the colour and application, and I have high hopes for how they last. For £6.00 at full price, these are a steal in my opinion - and if they live up to their gel-like formula claims then I think they could rival higher end nail enamels at a high street price.

Random Rambly Picture Post :)

This is a bit of a random Rambly post I thought I would write while watching Wall-E (the cutest film ever!) I love it! So this is my kitty-cat Robyn, the only time I can take decent non-blurry pictures of her is when she's sleeping :) She gets a bit skittish if I try to take them when she's awake ha ha . .

This is the other kitty in my life in the moment :) Even though it's been over a week since Easter I can't bear to eat her :( I think I might just wait until the last minute when she is about to go out of date.
I can't decide which one I like better, Hello Kitty doesn't jump on my pillow in the middle of the night!
My fiance thought it would be funny to buy me this chocolate make-up kit, chocolate and make-up are two of my favourite things but I'm not sure if they go so well together :/  hmm . . yummy though :P

And I thought I would share with you what has been doing mine and my neighbour's heads in recently:
I saw these in a local shop near where I live and mistakenly told Warren (the fiance) about it, so he HAD to have one. Since then everything has been blared at everyone like a foghorn (N) it was funny for the first 30 minutes but now I'm tearing my hair out :( I don't know what's worse, a megaphone or call of duty?

Evening Smokey Eye Look For Spring

sorry about the rogue bra strap LOL

This is an evening look I've been loving recently, a smouldering smokey eye with a clashing pop of colour for the lips. It's just a bit different to the smokey eye-nude lip combo and this time I chose a bubblegum pink lip, but I am also eager to try it with a pale orange-creamsicle lip too. Pairing on trend pastel colours with a dramatic eye is a nice little twist for an evening makeup. I have been trying to tone it down so I can wear it in the day too :)

Blouse - New Look (bought in the sale)
Trousers - Primark
Bag - Primark
Brogues - New Look
Bracelets - Republic

So this is what I wore and what make-up I had on today for a little shopping trip at the Trafford Centre in Manchester. I think this blouse is sooo pretty and I love the print, I bought it in the sale last week and I couldn't wait to wear it. For my make-up, I wanted something subtle to match the outfit, I hadn't even tried the Laura Geller Honey Peach lip colour before and when I was looking through my palettes I saw that shade and thought the colour would be perfect. I am always sceptical when there are lip colours in palettes because a lot of the time, they aren't very pigmented or the payoff isn't very good but I have to say I love her lip colours! I thought it would be like a gloss but it was just like using a satin finish lipstick rich in pigment. It lasted a long time time too and only wore off after eating.
The trafford centre wasn't as packed as it usually is and I was surprised seeing that it was a bank holiday, but I can see why it is so popular, it's my favourite shopping centre :) I bought a few things from topshop and I will be doing a haul post soon because I loooove what I got! :D Oh and a Happy Belated Easter to everybody and I hope everyone has a chocolate induced stomach ache too! (the best kind of stomach ache) :)

Aztec Print OOTD

Dress - New Look
Tights - Store 21
Boots - Bought last year from a little shoe shop
I can't remember the name of, that has since closed down :(
Bracelet - A gift from my lovely friend Emma :)

Please excuse the random washing line that has fallen down in the background that I have just noticed whilst cropping these pictures!

Today, well technically yesterday now it's past 12'o'clock, it was my (not so little) brother's 18th birthday, Happy Birthday Stuart :) This is what I wore to my mum's house for a family party, I thought I'd wear something nice for the occasion but still casual too. I had bought this dress on Wednesday when shopping for his birthday presents and I should have known I don't have the willpower to stay away from a sale rack! Even though I saw very similar dresses elsewhere in the shop, I saw a couple in the sale section for £5, so I had to grab one .. and a few other purchases, they will be in future posts soon because I can't wait to wear them :D When I was looking for the link for this post I noticed that they were reduced to £9.99 on the website, but I would recommend going in the shop first to see if they have reduced them any more because sale prices aren't updated as quickly as in the stores. I'm loving the whole aztec trend at the moment and I am glad I indulged myself, and hopefully this trend will continue through the year, because I think I will be indulging some more, and I don't want it all to go waste! :)
